Denver SEO Knox – Reputation Management, SEO, iPhones & Stuff

I have 2 front floor tickets available for the Denver Madonna world tour concert in November.

Oh come on – the show will rock! She’s never performed in Denver, so it’s a kind of a big deal here – if you’re into that.

Ok – This concert sold out in less than a half hour and the tickets alone are valued at over a thousand dollars, but you can still attend!

iphone 2.0 detectionThanks to a user of the iPhone template, a glitch in the newest safari that throws some bugs into the detection script.

First off – credit to who deserves it. Chris Bailey started BoatingBay.com in 2006 and was also the first boat classifieds on the iPhone – the mobile version is pretty nice. Check out used boat classifieds to search for boats. Be sure to check it out on the iPhone to see how he’s worked it out.

Anyway, the Read the rest of this entry »

I get a lot of requests for iPhone web apps and apps for download through iTunes. I’m saying no to them almost daily. (no offense to those asking – I’m actually a busy guy)

Last week while scanning logs for this blog I saw something odd, a large number of hits for search terms relating to “Denver” and “black helicopters”.

Competition for Attention

June - 3 - 2008

Starbucks is the second office to many, especially me. It’s great for meetings and banter. The atmosphere is wonderful and caters to the family as well. My iPhone gives me the opportunity to capture the oddities of my town while appearing to be working. SEO is a little more difficult than what this confused lady has shown. Attention online is one thing but real life is another. Sure, a controversial or shocking story works and gathers eyeballs in both worlds. I think I need another caffeine fix.

A Bust Gut & Clean Colon

May - 13 - 2008

This morning started light. I blog, so I also read blogs. Sometime I cross a headline that makes my dog wonder what’s wrong with me as his ears perk up while I spontaneously bust out laughing.

Two of them here. First was found by David Naylor and the headline is Great tits cope well with warming. Okay kinda boyish but it’s on the BBC.

Second, I have to give credit to this guy. Sure, he’s a Denver SEO competitor but I can’t begrudge him for linking to a client – but sometime it’s hard to with a straight face. Zack at Katz Web Design of Denver has an article called ” Denver SEO for colon cleansing…a “sweet” surprise!”.

A quick puke.

As I work and throw out some posts to keep this puppy live and quietly reorganize my company I realized today that Andrew Hillman of Boston MA was called out. Read the rest of this entry »

It’s time. It needs to happen. This site is a mess, unfocused and confusing – I know. It was fun, allowed me to play and explore without hurting clients. I never expected some of what has happened and have for a time been reluctant to change things. The size of this blog, all the sub-wordpress installations and toys has made it a bear of a task to change.

But, I am. Over the next month this site is splitting up into a few new domains. Yes – My blog will survive. Read the rest of this entry »

Well, I was wrong. When the contest began I threw out an article with a hottie real estate agent and she didn’t win – but I think she’s capable of finding employment. Eric Blackwell is at the top of the serp – congratulations Eric. Maybe after review another contestant will take the prize but Eric maintained the top for most of the contest term. police choice careerMost of you know I’m a former officer, so you’d understand why this project is not just “up my alley” but also fun.

Project overview, it’s called CopsAlive.com – working with the Law Enforcement Survival Institute it’s a site where officers can visit and participate in exploring the options available for their future. This is a hard thing for cops, I know. Law Enforcement personalities are… different. While the images of the job enticed so many to join, those images become realities and later become what harms their lives. Read the rest of this entry »

banner from seo guy.comMorgan Carey is one of the grandfathers of SEO. Anyone in this industry knows the name and the accomplishments. So I was pretty surprised to find a recommendation from him on his seo-guy.com home page.

Yes, I’m honored to be listed with Rand Fishkin and Jim Boykin on one of Morgan Carey’s websites.

    September - 28 - 2008

iPhone SEO will make you money and also strengthen your non-iPhone website targets.

  • Post One From Knox

    September - 17 - 2006

I know the song, I knew a girl whose face could launch a thousand ships. Without the fanfare I gotta get it rolling somehow. As mentioned in about, I’m Knox. Some call me other things, other names… a clever person can easily figure it out. The truth is elusive to those [...]

  • Denver Design, Video, Music & Photography

    August - 22 - 2009

Studiomae.com is a small design company in South Denver that is truly unique.  I met these people at a coffee shop and at first glance I thought they were competitors.  After some talking and meeting the principals I found that we are very different.
Media with a conscience is how they describe their company.  Jeremy and [...]

  • Sarasota MLS Stress Toy

    November - 16 - 2008

If it’s frustrating doing a Google search for Sarasota MLS and seein’ a Real Estate Board that doesn’t even have an MLS search feature at the top then here’s a little help.
It’s pretty misleading to the general public to land upon a website whose owners are intent on lying to the public,

  • What A Satisfying Shame

    November - 6 - 2006

What a great day! A major competitor of a client of mine has panicked. Don’t get me wrong, I really respect this company, and they’ve been a worthy adversary for a time. They must have thought the same of my client because they have completely rewritten their website. Yes the site [...]

  • Countdown to iPhone Anger about 3Gs

    June - 16 - 2009

I admit I’m a fan of the iPhone.  But, unlike those that camp out for days to be one of the first to acquire a new Apple toy (like these guys a week ahead of the release), I am waiting a week or so.

Yeah, my phone has been dropped and kicked a few times – [...]

  • More Reasons To Boycott Qwest?

    April - 21 - 2007

Though many have boycotted Qwest in the past, there’s even more to the reasoning than before.
Sure, the former big-wig is now facing 190 years in prison, but that doesn’t help us.

  • Google Indents – Doubles Are Good!

    December - 12 - 2007

The coveted “double listing” or “indents” on a Google SERP is not an accident or just plain luck. Site architecture and link strategies working in concert is what will reward you with a double listing. More importantly it will generate more visits to your site – that means more money!
    But why stop there? [...]

  • Are You An Angry Poster?

    December - 29 - 2006

We’ve all done it (I do it too often) but there’s a place for it. Don’t post when you’re angry.
Forums are great places for “heated exchanges” (it actually brings in traffic) but in general, an angry post is usually something the author regrets.
