Highlands Ranch Real Estate

June - 13 - 2009

The basic shell for the Denver real estate site is up (I know it needs a lot of work and content, and an MLS system) but that’s just the beginning.

Buyer’s Resource specializes in several niche areas including Highlands Ranch real estate.  Several themed sites will be appearing that will work in concert with the main website.  Again, thanks to everybody putting up with the transition and for your assistance!

I attended the Denver Real Estate Bar Camp conference on Friday.  It was.. interesting.  Firstly, I’ve never seen so many people with hands free cellular devices in one place, ever.  I though I was abducted by the Borg.

One pretty friendly face was Brian Kinkade, a Denver realtor friend of mine that I always seem to bump into.

The conference was set up into many classes, spanning from basically “What is the Internet” to topics called SEO (though I wouldn’t have called it that).

I didn’t attend to learn anything offered on their board, but to see who would be there.  There were some names that have been in the middle of the MIBOR issue, as well as representatives from IDX vendors and NAR.

I have some video and audio of the event as well as an exclusive interview with someone that may be surprising to some of you. I may be posting the interview here soon.

Board of Events: 6 rooms had different classes, running about 1.5 hours each. Read the rest of this entry »

MIBOR – Real Estate Assn.

May - 20 - 2009

I do enjoy (as many are) seeing such entrees in my logs.  Hello MIBOR – Thanks for coming back (again and again and again). I’m glad you’re learning how to use the interweb.

Learn more about MIBOR (the Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Realtors)

Almost done migrating content and then this site will start presenting the new Denver real estate info.  No, it won’t be real impressive at first, mostly some filler.

I’m still in need of a Denver mls feature – I think I know some people that can help with that.  I’m also trying to find an original theme, maybe a whole new framework is needed.

So, am I a real estate broker in Denver?  No.  Will I become one?  I might.  I’ll be sending email out to those that have followed me pretty soon with an update of the real estate switch.  So – Do I do “real estate seo”?  Not really, other than assist friends but none of it’s contractual or intense.  Will I work on this site?  Yes, eventually.  But truthfully, I expect it to degrade a little before I can push it the way I’d like.

Why am I doing this?  Again, email will go out.  To everyone else, just watch – and If you link here let’s make it real estate and Denver related ;)

SEO blog will be at knoxing.com so my voice will still be around.

It’s official.  EBAspace.com is going to start focusing on Denver Real Estate, specifically for Denver home buyers and Exclusive Buyer Agents.  Pretty clever eh?  Ya know, the whole EBA thing and all.

Anyway – this blog content (some) is moving to Knoxing.com and will have all my silly stories and such.  The content from that domain has moved to KnoxFoundations.com.

The migration will take about another week, so please pardon the dust while I prepare ‘space’ for Denver real estate EBA’s. Now I’ll need an MLS solution.

During this change I am not Read the rest of this entry »

I’d like to touch on the Indianapolis Board of Realtors (MIBOR) issue, where they have mislabeled Google as a scraper site, tomorrow on FrankySpeakingTV. Read the rest of this entry »

MIBOR Needs a Clue

Carolyn Gjerde-Tu is a Broker Associate with Lyon Real Estate in the Davis Office near Sacramento.  Her focus is on internet marketing and has an extensive background in Real Estate that includes many years in other areas including Real Estate Appraisal and Mortgage Lending.  Carolyn is a proud member of the Real Estate Webmasters community and contributes to many other outstanding real estate sources.

I’m part of a new breed of real estate agents – although my roots run deep in real estate, virtually all of my marketing and business comes through the internet.  Naturally I get concerned when policies are enacted that limit individual agents abilities to do business especially when policy is made by people who do not seem to have an understanding of how things work online. These Real Estate Associations never stop trying to control the livelihoods of paying members!

Ok, I personally have not been educated enough to understand what MIBOR and NAR is, or what the heck 2920292 carmel is yet.

I’m glad Carolyn, a Sacramento real estate professional, will guest post here and give me some learnin’ while providing an accumulated resource for all who may be interested.

Nothing To Do With Denver SEO

Always Blame the Web Guy

April - 22 - 2009

Rant: I received a BUNCH of email over night. I was a little confused because there wasn’t any content in the BODY of any of them.  This person was pretty irritated too – hinted by the PARAGRAPHS of text put in the SUBJECT line of each msg.

YES – Their email was getting bounced back to the senders trying get hold of this person and I was getting blamed.  No, my hosting service isn’t “broken”.

I checked their account and they have a GIG of mail sitting on the server.  My fault???  NO.  People, if you don’t know how to work an email client or even type in the correct fields DO NOT scream at me for your problems.

Like a REAL mailbox, EMPTY it once in a while or it fills up.  Yes, I’ll host you but you don’t pay me to take your heat.  If you need training, get a Dummies book.  Ok- I said it was a rant.

The video is lame and shaky, but it doesn’t really matter – it’s visual filler.

I’ve taken this month “off” from work, yes – spent it with family and close friends.

During this local vacation I took advantage of the light winter.  Before the recent storm hit I drove up to Conifer with my friend and colleague Chris McGaw.

Okay, the destination was only a Starbucks about 30 minutes up the hill.  I like the drive because it’s twisty and hilly.  I also like to speed by trucks – it’s just something that makes me smile.  It’s a good time to “talk some shop”.

Chris popped in a CD to play on the way.  It was a mix of some of his songs.  Chris plays some guitar and sings a bit.  He’s my Denver version of a “Boris Yututeers” or Nick May of Real Estate Read the rest of this entry »
