When SEO’s Get Bored

April - 12 - 2007

Many of “my kind” work at night. The reasons are many. I’m pretty lucky though for we have a couple 24 hour Starbucks in town.

Yes, I need to hit the highway to get there, and that’s fun when I grab the right keys. Tonight it was not fun. Read the rest of this entry »

For some delusional reason, Tom Antion with his apparent narcissistic personality disorder believes that people OWE HIM MONEY if they make money on their own.

I met a colleague at Starbucks this morning and he had a copy of “How to Win Sales & Influence Spiders” by Catherine (Cat) Seda with him.

Check it out over there —->

Considering I was recently bantering with her on another blog a few days ago about the differences between SEO and “Web Marketing”, I had to grab it for a few hours. I’m glad he had a laptop to keep him busy while I fed on this book. Read the rest of this entry »

There’s nothing wrong with increasing traffic to a website by making it genuinely informative and sufficiently alluring to attract links from other websites and bloggers!

I don’t decry the practice of boosting, I’M AN SEO! HOWEVER, I do object to the means that some firms and people use to achieve it. Read the rest of this entry »

Always PAY Your Graphic Artist

March - 25 - 2007

So, I’m building a site about Shiba Inus. (those are dogs) I have a shiba, great dog. His tail really is his signature. I AM NOT an artist, but my friend is. So, naturally I asked him to draw a picture of a Shiba Inu and to get that signature tail in it. Here’s My Shiba:

And here’s what he sent me! Read the rest of this entry »

I’ve said I’m not having adsense on this blog, but with the added traffic over the last week, well, I take it back. Plus I had to remove it from another site, grrrr. I am NOT asking anyone to click on them! Don’t do it!! Read the rest of this entry »

Turns out Tom Antion had a snide retort after getting caught spamming and his stupid mass email on his blogspot blog. Yes, comments are disabled apparently because he can’t allow anyone to show the hypocrisy behind his latest spam. He speaks of novice webmasters while his comments are at blogger. Cheating Online Bites You Back

March - 23 - 2007

Today I’ll talk about email, privacy and the gut dropping feeling people get when they get “caught” by their spouses.

A woman contacted me freaking out because her husband “found” some personal email of hers. The messages were harmless out of context, but did bring things into a fair perspective when coupled with behavior. Read the rest of this entry »

Sometime I work all day, some days I’m lazy. Today I TRIED to work the normal grind. After a client meeting I was driving back and saw smoke on the road ahead. GASP – the feeling that it could be your office. Well it was REAL CLOSE. Read the rest of this entry »

March - 20 - 2007

Dang it’s late, need to sleep but first I checked some logs. I found some funny Google searches that hit a couple of my sites.

Funny Search (didn’t remember typing this one)

Very Funny Search – hope I don’t get in trouble. Hey, WHO would search that anyway!!?

And the funniest of all – Read it again lol – honestly I have no idea where I am on that one!

Tom Antion (guru) A Hypocrite

March - 17 - 2007

Tom Antion, the self proclaimed Internet Marketing Guru, has recently sent out a mass mailing with an insulting and inaccurate subject and message.

The subject line states “your links are wrong on your website”

Hey Tom, thanks for the analysis, thanks for the lies. It certainly set the tone for the rest of your email for it consists of more lies Read the rest of this entry »

Apple users that are using Mail as their email client are getting barraged with image spam.

Below are the types of spam getting through the relatively effective Mail spam filter.

  • The Website Is Down

    December - 9 - 2008

A friend of mine in Louisville sent me a video today that just had me rollin’ in laughter.  For anyone working on the net this will crack you up.  The number of little jokes, nerd humor, frustrations and client assumptions are amazing.  This poor guy can’t even play Halo without getting interrupted. Thanks Scott!

  • Building Authority Websites The Right Way

    January - 22 - 2007

Authority is an “accepted source of expert information and advice”. On the web, a link to a page is a vote, and its existence is because the site linked to is found to be useful and informative – in a perfect world. So, if more sites link to it, it becomes authoritative.

  • What Is Relevant To SEO?

    January - 24 - 2008

The collective wish of billions of searches. Google Sets provides lists of what your users type into a search box to find – hopefully you. So make your post/site/page relevant to what not only what YOU want it to be about, but those looking for you. If I’m going to write a post that I [...]

  • Over $100,000 Worth of iPhones Saved

    February - 14 - 2008

It was actually my first app for iPhone but didn’t submit it to Apple. So I did now and they took it. Thanks to all of you who have sought out the wares and used them and left some great comments and sent nice thanks. From all the “Thank yous” this lone app has rescued [...]

  • Twitter Makes Communities Tighter

    November - 4 - 2008

Those that follow me on Twitter know I don’t use it to advertise.  I don’t shout out “What I’m doing” very often or take irrelevant pictures of my food.  Instead, and to the annoyance of some that will not follow me after learning this (and I’m fine with that), I use it to talk WITH [...]

  • Testing Flip Mino HD in Car for New Website

    January - 10 - 2009

I have a lot of excess clips from testing the FLIP HD for an upcoming video blog.  Instead of dumping it, here is some with various lighting.  I tried it from within a car.  This seams to be where the Flip suffers – no image stabilization. Below is the result.

  • Got Another

    June - 28 - 2007

Thanks to a Starbuck buddy for holding my 5 minutes of effort for a great pic. Telling the truth is a powerful thing. (also an ultimate defense to frivolous claims)

  • Highlands Ranch Real Estate

    June - 13 - 2009

The basic shell for the Denver real estate site is up (I know it needs a lot of work and content, and an MLS system) but that’s just the beginning. Buyer’s Resource specializes in several niche areas including Highlands Ranch real estate.  Several themed sites will be appearing that will work in concert with the [...]

  • Don’t Marry Blogger – SEO Warning

    December - 12 - 2006

It happens with some relationships. Sometimes the needs of one are no longer met by the other. Perhaps something new catches the eye of the bored. Sometimes deciding to drop ol’ faithful and go with what’s popular is the reason. Though there are some great things about Blogger, the “cons” lists, in my eyes, are [...]

  • Douglas County Sheriff on iPhone

    February - 5 - 2010

I made a simple iPhone site for myself and some friends have found it useful so I’m sharing the link now. Basically, it’s just a quick way to access information about the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. The live dispatch is actually a combined feed from the Douglas County Sheriff, Lone Tree PD, Parker PD and [...]
