Denver SEO Knox – Reputation Management, SEO, iPhones & Stuff

I built this blog for myself and it has expanded, sue me.

After years of maintaining several satellite websites to funnel your choices and money to my services, I’ve decided to maintain fewer properties, that energy is spent on clients now. Plus, this is more fun than the run-of-the-mill brochure, we’re both sick of those.

This site/blog is not intended for direct client communications – they have their portals. Yes I will offer communication to new clients here but further correspondences shall take place by other means.

So now the purpose of this site is three-fold:

1. To share information and observations of web trends concerning layout, design and SEO while offering tips and assistance to webmasters and businesses seeking to increase their web presence, increase conversion and ultimately make more money.

2. Offer my view of what the web should be and possibly persuade businesses to use it for the benefit it has brought to our society, not for the ugliness and invasive nature often associated with it. I’ll talk about “brand” and “image”, privacy and some parts of the darker side of this networked world.

3. To rant and laugh (sometime at myself) – share a little about myself, drop some google bombs, taunt my enemies, you know – blog stuff. I’ll also share some hobby wares and stories – it’s my dang site.

I welcome your comments but I do have spam protection and will trust Akismet. If you comment spam this site, you will be shunned.

Disclaimers:Before anyone gets huffy:

1- The United States Code (47 USC 230) gives bloggers some protection against libel suits based on the theory that the blogger is a publisher of comments. That’s basically it for those who like the cliff notes version, for others I will elaborate, a little.

2- This is a personal blog. The views and opinions expressed here represent my own and not those of the people, institutions or organizations that I may or may not be related with unless stated explicitly.

3- Also, my thoughts and opinions change from time to time. This blog provides a snapshot of my knowledge, views, and opinions that I hold at a particular point of time and these might most probably change over a period of time. I reserve the right to evolve my knowledge, thoughts, and viewpoints over time and to change them without assigning any reason. Live with it. If you don’t like what you see, don’t read it. This is my home, you are a guest.

4- In some posts I may mention intricacies of third party services, methods and technologies that I have knowledge of. If so mentioned, it is knowledge I have come across of my own accord, and any post shall not mention any knowledge if I have an agreed upon non-disclosure document. Mention of any such methods, technologies, codes, blah blah is for education, opinion offering and comment and shall not be mistaken for endorsement of any activity by any reader whatsoever.

5 – Alas, this Website/Blog includes links to other sites operated by third parties. These links are provided as a convenience to you and as an additional avenue of access to the information contained therein. I have not reviewed all of the information on other sites and are not responsible for the content of any other sites or any products or services that may be offered through other sites. So, if I link to some horrible, gut wrenching site with a silly comment or opinion, like it or leave. Keywords – COMMENT and OPINION.

EBASpace Privacy Policy & Use of Cookies

Like you, we at EBASpace are concerned about your privacy. When you choose to provide us with information about yourself, we recognize that you trust us to act in a responsible manner. We understand that you have confidential information that you want to protect and maintain as confidential. We want you to know that EBASpace is committed to safeguarding your privacy online and we strive to make our web site as safe and secure as reasonably possible.

Your right to privacy is very important to us. If you have any questions after reading this policy, please let us know.

The Information We Obtain and How We Use It

The information we obtain from you is generally necessary for us to provide you with answers to your questions, and that we may contact you if additional information is discovered by the company that we feel, in good faith, will provide you with beneficial information.

All information collected from you is considered by EBASpace as your property. This information will be used by EBASpace or its agents only for the purposes that it is provided for and will not be shared with other parties without your approval. We treat information we collect online similarly to that we collect off-line. We do not sell or disclose client information to other entities except as described below.

Disclosure of Information

As a general rule, EBASpace does not release information to unaffiliated third parties without your permission, unless we have a business relationship with those companies where the disclosure is appropriate.

There are exceptions to the general rule. For example, we might provide information to regulatory or administrative agencies so that they can accomplish their regulatory tasks or to maximize the efficiencies of our own processes (such as getting mailing addresses correct, for example). Other disclosures will be driven by legal requirements imposed on EBASpace. EBASpace complies with “legal process,” such as a subpoena or court order or other similar demand, associated with either criminal or civil proceedings.
If you tell us in writing to release your information to someone, we will honor your request and provide that information.
Your information is released to other carriers when you give us your permission or when they advise us they have your approval to access the information. Unless we are advised that permission from you has been granted, we do not release the information.
It may on occasion be necessary for EBASpace employees or agents working on behalf of EBASpace to have access to your profile or data to provide you with support or to perform certain maintenance tasks. This access happens on an as-needed basis only. EBASpace requires employees and agents to keep client information confidential, and we hold them accountable for their actions.

Use of Cookies

The only use of Cookies within EBASpace is to aid the user in commenting by filling in previously inputed Name, Email Address and Website.

Also, when you access the web site of another company, an advertiser, or web site linked from the EBASpace website, those companies or sites may use cookies or other means to collect information about you. Again, the EBASpace privacy policy does not apply to these instances; instead, the privacy policy of the site you visit will apply.
If you have questions about the privacy policies of these other companies or the privacy policies of other sites, we encourage you to contact them directly.

Privacy and Security Over the Internet in General

Whenever you voluntarily disclose personal or company information online – for example, on message boards, through email, or in chat areas – that information can be collected and used by others. In short, if you post personal or company information online that is accessible to the public, you may receive unsolicited messages from other parties.

  • ‘Ping’ – Sounds Like ‘Bring’

    January - 15 - 2008

WordPress by default will let Ping-o-matic know you have updated posts and then ping a few other services.
A ‘Ping’ is a basic program that lets you verify that a particular Internet address exists and can accept requests. The verb ping in the Blog world means the act of notifying a service you have updated content.
    So [...]

  • Obama Countdown on iPhone

    February - 23 - 2010

Most of my “regulars” here have a sense of my politics, so you won’t be surprised to see I’ve built a little WebApp for iPhones counting down to the exact time Barack Obama leaves the white house.
Each time it’s loaded you’ll also get a comic, picture or joke taken from the web.
    Add it to your [...]

  • Twitter Makes Communities Tighter

    November - 4 - 2008

Those that follow me on Twitter know I don’t use it to advertise.  I don’t shout out “What I’m doing” very often or take irrelevant pictures of my food.  Instead, and to the annoyance of some that will not follow me after learning this (and I’m fine with that), I use it to talk WITH [...]

  • Competition for Attention

    June - 3 - 2008

Starbucks is the second office to many, especially me. It’s great for meetings and banter. The atmosphere is wonderful and caters to the family as well. My iPhone gives me the opportunity to capture the oddities of my town while appearing to be working. SEO is a little more difficult than [...]

  • Testing Flip Mino HD in Car for New Website

    January - 10 - 2009

I have a lot of excess clips from testing the FLIP HD for an upcoming video blog.  Instead of dumping it, here is some with various lighting.  I tried it from within a car.  This seams to be where the Flip suffers – no image stabilization.
    Below is the result.

  • LanGard MicroDevelopers LLC (very limited)

    January - 4 - 2008

I read a number of blogs and forums, so do you – you’re here.
One of my daily stops is RealEstateWebmasters.com
I’ve up-thumbed them for a long time, I have ZERO issues with them.
But… it does get infiltrated once in a while by a loud-mouthed know-it-all that attempts to derail threads, stifle opposing views and spam.
    I recently [...]

  • Muffin Top Distracted Me

    September - 11 - 2007

I was going to write a post about Internet trends tonight. But Britney Spears, with her “comeback” on the MTV awards really hit me, one more time…. with her degrading body and silly moves at the MTV awards on September 9th. Yes, she’s getting fat, (not as fat as denver fat chicks) but she [...]

  • Highlands Ranch Real Estate

    June - 13 - 2009

The basic shell for the Denver real estate site is up (I know it needs a lot of work and content, and an MLS system) but that’s just the beginning.

Buyer’s Resource specializes in several niche areas including Highlands Ranch real estate.  Several themed sites will be appearing that will work in concert with the main [...]

  • Denver Needs a Different Real Estate Voice

    May - 19 - 2009

Almost done migrating content and then this site will start presenting the new Denver real estate info.  No, it won’t be real impressive at first, mostly some filler.
I’m still in need of a Denver mls feature – I think I know some people that can help with that.  I’m also trying to find an original [...]

  • Tom Antion – Refunding Mentees?

    March - 24 - 2007

Turns out Tom Antion had a snide retort after getting caught spamming and his stupid mass email on his blogspot blog. Yes, comments are disabled apparently because he can’t allow anyone to show the hypocrisy behind his latest spam. He speaks of novice webmasters while his comments are at blogger. Here’s the post, with no-follow [...]

  • Quick WordPress Tip By Michael Gray

    February - 14 - 2008

SEO Michael Gray (read him) had a video about WordPress and duping your content. A friend asked about robots.txt attributes and instead of typing it out I thought I’d share this WordPress SEO tip with all of you.

  • Online Brochures Redundant Failures

    December - 15 - 2006

Try it – ask a business “why do you want a brochure?” and they will just stare at you like you just said something you weren’t supposed to bring up.
A brochure is a given – a standard procedure, a marketing cliché. This is why so many websites are failures – they are no more [...]
