Denver SEO Knox – Reputation Management, SEO, iPhones & Stuff

Taking a break from the single digit temperatures in Denver and Christmas shopping I met a realtor friend at my usual office – Starbucks.

I met him at a real estate conference earlier this year in Canada not knowing he lived in Denver.  I hope Brian comes by more often – the free wi-fi and shared goals of increasing our web presence should be enough.

Merry Christmas, Brian -I hope your real estate business in Denver takes off!

One day I will be Knox’s friend, meet him in the Pasco Washington Starbucks then have a blog entry written about me! Hey Knox, how’s it going? The only reason I’m here is procrastination. I think I found myself here following something Marc is doing. Anyway, your site is looking great, as usual. ~ Joe :)

    Joe, we’re friends!

  • Web 2.Oh-My-God

    November - 13 - 2007

More and more as we work and play services and toys are netting together with web technologies that weren’t in existence at the turn of the millennium, under your nose and in plain sight. Just as we voluntarily accepted the carrying of GPS locators (cell-phones) we are also volunteering our personalities. Would you have done [...]

  • Denver MLS for Real Estate

    December - 11 - 2008

I’ve written a few posts about the MLS and have found myself ranking for Denver MLS in search engines, about page two (never written about that one).  I’m simply writing this little post to see how competitive the result is in the Denver area.
Real estate is typically pretty competitive, and the top results are a [...]

  • iPhone Color Picker Web App

    January - 22 - 2008

    I couldn’t resist.
You all know I develop for the iPhone as well as my “real job” – so here’s the predictable follow-up article for the color picker post below.
    Apple accepted it – nice.
After presenting the color picker tool, I ported it to the iPhone. I thought it would be handy for client meetings, [...]

  • Don’t Look At Me – YOU Killed Your Website

    November - 21 - 2006

After a website becomes successful, after the SEO is on to newer projects, it happens.
A phone rings on the hip of the SEO responsible for that beautiful 1st page search result of last month. “What happened? Why did it fall?”
    Here it is: short list.

    Your site became stale
    Link decay
    Aggressive competition
You fell for an email [...]

  • Knox “Logo” Changes Explained

    November - 11 - 2008

The “logo” on this site has changed over time.
Actually, it’s not a logo – I don’t want a little drawing to represent me or what I do.  What I have up there is just a symbol and I’ll explain the evolution and it’s beginning.

I’ll start with the end:  Below is a frame series from the [...]

  • Top Dozen Knox Articles

    August - 21 - 2007

Looking over my logs I’ve found the top dozen most popular articles I’ve posted (ratio of views/day) and have listed them below. Together they really do cover the purpose of this blog, so I guess I’m happy.

Greg Boser Dispatches The Black Helicopters – Complaints from a realtor that blames an SEO for his trouble.
    Failed [...]

  • Andrew Hillman Boston MA. Content Thief

    May - 12 - 2008

    A quick puke.
As I work and throw out some posts to keep this puppy live and quietly reorganize my company I realized today that Andrew Hillman of Boston MA was called out.
Going back to half the spirit of this blog, I had to say “good job REW” when I read this article about Andrew Hillman.
    Theives, [...]

  • Sarasota MLS Victim Speaks on Domain Hijack

    October - 28 - 2008

The victim of the Sarasota MLS domain snatching by Helen Sosso and her ASSociation of REALTORS has spoken out.  Marc has listed the time line of events so world understands, without SAR-Spin the true events of this theft.
Good job Marc!  Just the fact that you will address this publicly shows where your ethics truly lie, [...]

  • “Green Hat” SEO

    October - 26 - 2006

You’ve read it, you’ve heard it. The “ethical” seo’s say “we’re white hat” and that the evil ones are “black hat” – c’mon. I too, in my “office” mode and voice will spout it, yes I am a “white hat” seo. WHY would any real seo say they were evil? To [...]

  • Content Demoted To Queen

    January - 16 - 2007

Every SEO regurgitates the phrase “Content is King” but I think the claim needs revaluation.
Search engine gurus have spouted the phrase for quite a while, but have you noticed just how many sites are ranking with very little, or scraped content?
Makes you want to figure out what’s causing the rank, and you realize that “Links [...]

  • New Office Attitudes for 2007

    January - 3 - 2007

I’ve been told I’m a little sarcastic in my articles – that’s not sarcasm, but confidence. Ok, sarcasm too. So, to keep things light I’m ordering some new office posters.
We’ve all seen those things – the rowboats visually presenting a “teamwork” metaphor and other silly things to “motivate” the 8-5 corporate soldiers.
    These posters [...]

  • The “Knox got home way too late to post anything uber cool” Post

    November - 9 - 2008

Well, it is uber cool.  Maybe you got a head cold.  Maybe you just didn’t feel like talking much – I dunno.  I’m going to sleep on trying to figure out what the dolls in this video represented…:)
