On March - 28 - 2008

Every Apple mac user with a Mighty Mouse has had the eventual problem where their ball stopped scrolling vertically. There are hundreds of videos and papers on how to properly disassemble your mouse (break it) and you have the option to go buy a new one.

Before you do any of that just Read the rest of this entry »

I Promise I’m Working!

On March - 27 - 2008

I know, been a while – that’s a bad thing according to the blogging Gods. Worse than that is saying “sorry, been a while…” so instead of the apology I’ll just inform.

Yes, Ive been working but I have a job that extends beyond writing about SEO and iPhones, I promise.

FINALLY, we have Knox Hosting together (clients say “yippie” and thank your rep dude) and I’m also about complete with a few larger projects Read the rest of this entry »

Build Entire iPhone Web Apps from WordPress.

MANY know how to use WordPress. NOT MANY know how to code a web app for the iPhone. But now you can! It’s easy, it’s new and it’s super cool!

This is intended for native iPhone Web app output, not for blogging. WordPress is the medium for publishing for those unable to write an iPhone app by code. It is NOT intended to make your blog look like an iPhone.

God Reads the Knox Blog

On March - 14 - 2008

Turns out God reads this blog.

I received an email that says:

“May God find you and touches your heart once and for all to stop the attitude you’ve taken upon you with this web site to condem many.”

It was from “email@god.com” so I gave it some attention. It was also from the same ip of someone caught committing crimes Read the rest of this entry »

Frustrated with the same scraper splog for a while, pagerankpimp.com (many of you have noticed this in your Wordpress dashboard) – I’m happy to see they have apparently been nuked. Hopefully the efforts I’ve put forth finding others scraped by them have resulted in their AdSense account being banned; hence their removing the splog, finally. This annoyance of SEO and blogosphere copy-lifter Read the rest of this entry »

Defamation Per se

Some statements are so defamatory that they are considered defamation per se; and the plaintiff does not have to prove that the statements harmed his reputation or that the statements were false.

The classic examples of defamation per se are allegations of serious sexual misconduct; allegations of serious criminal misbehavior; or allegations that a person is afflicted with a loathsome disease.

Why do I write this? To get it out. So YOU can read it.

Opportunity of a Lifetime – No

On March - 2 - 2008

Denver SEO Stays in DenverI was first approached about a month ago by a large Internet company in California that most of you have heard of about working for them.

Some of you know this, that I’ve been considering the seducing opportunity but my decision is to stay in Denver. Yes, a substantial salary was offered, a great work environment and position in what is definitely within my skill-set – a true lifetime opportunity.

Though the experience would be incredible and the bragging rights more, I’m staying here. My life, family and business is here in Denver – and it’s growing. I can’t take the politics out there anyway:)

So, regulars that knew – I’m here, though I was about seduced. I’ve been slow to respond with some projects for this, I know – but I’m back. Let’s get rollin’ again, Denver.

  • Please Say Goodbye To Corporate Hello’s

    December - 21 - 2006

The web is as necessary to business today as the telephone was a decade ago, yet so many businesses use it as nothing more than a digital business card.
Ok, your expensive “corporate hello” may be great – if it were still 1998.

  • Police Officers – Careers After The Brotherhood

    April - 18 - 2008

Most of you know I’m a former officer, so you’d understand why this project is not just “up my alley” but also fun.

  • A Bust Gut & Clean Colon

    May - 13 - 2008

This morning started light. I blog, so I also read blogs. Sometime I cross a headline that makes my dog wonder what’s wrong with me as his ears perk up while I spontaneously bust out laughing.

  • Tom Antion – Refunding Mentees?

    March - 24 - 2007

Turns out Tom Antion had a snide retort after getting caught spamming and his stupid mass email on his blogspot blog. Yes, comments are disabled apparently because he can’t allow anyone to show the hypocrisy behind his latest spam. He speaks of novice webmasters while his comments are at blogger.

  • SEO’s, Webmasters – Protect Client Content

    December - 31 - 2007

Update your copyright notice. Wordpress users, depending on your theme – your copyright may be echoed and you don’t need to worry. If it’s not and it’s hard-coded in your footer then fix it in your theme’s ‘footer.php’ file. You can do this in your WordPress Dashboard if permissions were set properly [...]

  • Holiday Escape Without Bruises

    December - 6 - 2007

Yes, I’ve been a little busy. I’ve had a few “Where are you’s”, “Are you dead’s?” and such. No – I’m still kickin’ around but did have to take a bloggin’ break to finish some projects. I learned to NOT announce my breaks for that’s when I seem to get hacked…..
    As well [...]

  • Your Image & Your Website

    December - 16 - 2006

Businesses, institutions and governments all use the same tools and broadcast media – the buildings, logos, websites, brochures, press releases and speeches – all to convey their “image”, their “brand”.
Individually and collectively the difficulty begins when we cross the line of believability – when that image we have for these businesses and individuals are not [...]

  • Another Babe Clone

    January - 5 - 2007

I wrote a silly article in November about using template pics for a website, and how they can hurt you when it comes to trust on the internet.
Well, I found her again, not my favorite customer service babe, but she’s getting very popular. This one is from a real estate service – this chick [...]

  • Always PAY Your Graphic Artist

    March - 25 - 2007

So, I’m building a site about Shiba Inus. (those are dogs) I have a shiba, great dog. His tail really is his signature. I AM NOT an artist, but my friend is. So, naturally I asked him to draw a picture of a Shiba Inu and to get that signature tail [...]

  • Denver SEO & Reputation Management

    December - 20 - 2007

Wow, I really do go a while without writing about SEO. So while I mostly throw out tips and toys I need to remind myself (you?) that I run a Reputation Management network from Denver and I’m pretty much the only real SEO in Denver.
Though there are some others with “SEO packages” they really [...]
