Denver SEO Knox – Reputation Management, SEO, iPhones & Stuff

A tech savvy viewer won’t give you any credibility if your blog looks like everything else.

Get a unique look. I love this wordpress template generator. No, I wouldn’t use its generated template as a theme, but it’s a great way to experiment with colors and gain inspiration. If you find something you like you can go ahead and tweak the code for SEO.

Or, if your looking for a pretty good SEO’d template to start off with, try copyblogger. “Out of the box” it’s pretty slick, but the CSS is built for very easy customization too.

Top it off with a custom favicon too. Be sure to promote your blog through all the means you now and discover, and remember to chase the long tail terms and mistyped versions. Check out this tool for variations.

Ok, short, but hopefully a few tools to help and inspire.

Nice post, I have a wordpress blog but between Active Rain and Real Estate Webmasters I just have not had the time for the 3rd blog, or the ideas to put up on it yet.

  • Chris, Denver Graphic Dude – Going Solo

    January - 21 - 2009

I’m announcing, officially, that Chris is now freelancing. For those that don’t know who I’m talking about, Chris is the talent behind any of the images I’ve used that were actually any good.
I know I’m not an artist and Chris has been the guy that works on client sites for me.  He’s a good [...]

  • Imitation Is Flattering

    December - 22 - 2006

It amuses me whenever I run a successful SEO campaign and find others mimicking certain parts of my work.
I chuckle because they have inevitably copied some words but failed to duplicate the strategy and tactics behind the campaign.
Then while you high-five yourselves after ranking for something as amazing as your domain name, I’ll re-earn my [...]

  • Tell Them It’s Google Probation

    October - 26 - 2006

There always come the time you’re asked about the “sandbox” by your clients – the “time delay”, whatever you may call it, whatever they may think it is. While it’s possible to defeat this “filter” you need to be cautious and not promise success. Instead, I resort to a little metaphor I call [...]

  • SEO Fight Club “Opens” Soon

    November - 15 - 2008

I’ve written about the Fight Club and wanted to show that it’s a real thing.  I don’t write about SEO on this blog as often as expected and that was for a reason.
Instead of giving everything away to the world I’m keeping it underground and will share it within the club.  Still have a few [...]

  • Obama Supporters

    November - 6 - 2008

This president-elect is not the Messiah. He is not going to “raise the consciousness of the planet” or “change the world”.
He is one man, just a man who will be Chief Executive of one nation. (Yes, one nation under God).
Please remember the values this country was founded upon. And in the future, please [...]

  • Web 2.Oh-My-God

    November - 13 - 2007

More and more as we work and play services and toys are netting together with web technologies that weren’t in existence at the turn of the millennium, under your nose and in plain sight. Just as we voluntarily accepted the carrying of GPS locators (cell-phones) we are also volunteering our personalities. Would you have done [...]

  • Conceived in Liberty

    April - 23 - 2009

    Sign The Declaration
Just a workin’ man without a job
It got shipped off to China via Washington, D.C.
And I know I’m nothin’ special, there are plenty more like me
    Just the same
I thought I knew the rules of the game
I stood up for this country that I love
I came back from the desert to a wife and [...]

  • The Home Page Dilemma

    December - 17 - 2006

Ever notice that websites’ most relevant information is often times a click or two away from the home page? There’s a contact page, an about page, services or product page, etc.
After all these supporting sub-pages are written, businesses seem to be scratching their heads. When asked for content for the home page I [...]

  • Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines – Haiti Earthquake

    January - 20 - 2010

Royal Caribbean wants you to see a completely different Haiti.  “Labadee” is what’s called a leased part of the island that the cruise line calls “private” and is one of the many places their tanning customers get to visit.  It’s in Haiti.  It’s 70 miles from the devastation at Port-au-Prince.

    Personally I think it’s disgusting that [...]

  • Apple Mail Image Spam Solution

    March - 5 - 2007

Apple users that are using Mail as their email client are getting barraged with image spam.
Below are the types of spam getting through the relatively effective Mail spam filter.
    Images like these:

    and

Though Mac users are protected well from text spam, these annoying messages are getting through, but no more.
Here’s a ‘rule’ Mac users can set up [...]

  • Don’t Marry Blogger – SEO Warning

    December - 12 - 2006

It happens with some relationships. Sometimes the needs of one are no longer met by the other. Perhaps something new catches the eye of the bored. Sometimes deciding to drop ol’ faithful and go with what’s popular is the reason.
Though there are some great things about Blogger, the “cons” lists, in my [...]

  • Connectivity Instigates Creativity, Creation?

    December - 30 - 2006

Our brains are composed of millions of individual neurons which are not connected, but do have simple input/output devices, a basic firing mechanism allowing a neuron to connect with another, or a network of neurons. With this architecture we create, grow, interact, organize and participate in the world around us.
The web is composed of [...]
